Phil Cooke

Phil is the Co-Founder and President of Cooke Media Group, a working producer in Hollywood with a Ph.D. in Theology. His client list includes studios and networks like Walt Disney, Dreamworks, and USA Network, as well as major Christian organizations from Billy Graham, Oral Roberts, Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer, The Museum of the Bible, Mercy Ships, The Salvation Army, Southern Baptist Convention, The International Mission Board, The American Bible Society, The YouVersion Bible app, and many more. He’s helped some of the largest Christian and nonprofit organizations in the world use the media to tell their story in a changing, disrupted culture. Cooke produced Billy Graham’s most-seen program, “Starting Over,” which reached around 1.5 billion people in 200 countries in one day.
Phil is Member of the Global Council of Empowered21, co-chaired by Billy Wilson (President of Oral Roberts University) and George O. Wood (Assemblies of God).
Phil was Executive Producer of “Let Hope Rise – the Hillsong Movie” released to theaters nationwide, and Producer of “The Insanity of God” a feature documentary that premiered nationally as a Fathom Event. According to former CNN journalist Paula Zahn, Phil is rare – a working producer in Hollywood with a Ph.D. in Theology. He’s appeared on NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, CNN, Fox News, and his work has been profiled in The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and The Wall Street Journal.
Phil lectured at universities like Yale, University of California at Berkeley, UCLA, and is currently a visiting professor at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Phil attributes his career path to a movie he made in high school, which he played for his fellow students at Oral Roberts University. When the response was positive, he left his music major behind and got his degree in Film and Television in 1976. He later earned a Master’s in Journalism from the Univ e rsity of Oklahoma, and a doctorate through distance learning from the unaccredited Trinity College and Seminary in Indiana.
Phil considers Oral Roberts as one of his mentors.
Phil is married to Kathy Cooke.
